The 'Atlas of Development Trends - Orissa' prepared by Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) and supported by Concern Worldwide India, was released on August 19, 2010 on the occasion of the third International Humanitarian Day at a ceremony organised by the Social Responsibility Cell of the Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneshwar (XIMB) and Concern Worldwide India. The various people who participated in the event included Mihir Bhatt of the All India Institute of Disaster Management, Ambika Nanda of the United Nations Development Programme, Dr. Mangala Prasad Mohanty of the Red Cross Society, Odisha State and Deepankar Datta, Director of Concern Worldwide India. The chief guest at the event was the State's Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, Sri.S.N.Patro.
The Atlas is an initiative by FES in collaboration with Concern Worldwide India, aimed at creating an information base that can aid in the improved understanding of the development context of the State of Odisha and prove to be a handy tool to policy makers, development planners, academia, researchers, development practitioners, students, etal., in shaping its development agenda.
